British Holiday Makers Can’t Stop Complaining

You may recall reports of some of the downright bizarre complaints made by British holiday makers to their holiday reps. These include a complaint from a woman about the fish in the sea startling her children and another who blamed the hotel for her pregnancy after she and her partner had been provided with a double bed instead of two singles.

It would appear that Brits abroad just love to complain and they’ll complain about anything. Benidorm holiday reps have reported that British holiday makers constantly complain, many appearing to be unhappy with being abroad.

One older, retired man complained that the ‘Spaniards are everywhere you go, you just can’t get away from them’. Even when he was reminded that he was in Spain he grumbled that the least they could do was speak English.

One moaner complained that all the road signs were in Spanish and another complained that all the restaurant menus were in Spanish.

Food and drink provide constant fuel for complaints from British tourists. One person complained that the seafood platter was ‘too fishy’ and didn’t come wiht chips and another who complained that the Sangria had made them so drunk that they danced on the table.

The hot Spanish sun is another source of moans and complaints from British visitors. Many British holidaymakers appear to think it’s the tour companies responsibility to ensure that they are adequately protected against burning in the sun. Holiday reps are often faced with complaints from people who have let themselves become burned on their first day in the hot Spanish sun.

But there was one grumbling Brit who said that the sun rose too early in Spain and another woman who complained that the sun was so bright that it hurt her childrens eyes.

One woman complained that her husband had spent the whole holiday staring at the bikini wearing girls who, she said, were too scantily clad.

So what is the weirdest complaint you have heard while on holiday?
